This 5-day Wilderness Survival camp is a great way for boys to stay busy in the summer, while learning fun and life-saving skills. No outdoor experience is necessary. Over the course of five in-depth sessions, participants learn concrete survival skills and develop their relationship to the natural world. Topics include friction fire and fire-safety, plant-identification, traps, cordage, animal tracking, bird language, scout skills, navigation, and survival shelter construction. The week also focuses on cultivating healthy communication and friendships, and our Friday session culminates in a celebratory snack cooked over coals, music, and an opportunity to share the week's creations. All topics are explored via an experiential curriculum involving games, creative play, exploration, adventure, and primitive crafts.
